Joint ATS/Aerodromes/Airlines and GA/CAA Safety Oversight Organizations' SMS Role-playing Exercise 1
Dr. Peter Moertl, MITRE/CAASD Senior Human Factors Engineer
The purpose of Exercise 1 is to bring together multiple perspectives and to demonstrate an integrated SMS for airlines, air traffic services, airport operators, and CAA oversight safety organizations to facilitate role playing activities. The exercise is based on an historic runway incursion scenario. Participants will be actively engaged to explore the problem using the safety management system. They will be instructed to identify safety solutions by applying SMS principles.

Joint ATS/Aerodromes/Airlines and GA/CAA Safety Oversight Organizations' SMS Role-playing Exercise 2
Dr. Peter Moertl, MITRE/CAASD Senior Human Factors Engineer
The purpose of Exercise 2 is to demonstrate an integrated SMS for a problem of increased airport capacity requirements due to aggressive growth. Using SMS principles, participants will identify solutions and safety recommendations.
